Tantalum (Ta) is a heavy, dark blue-gray metal known for its exceptional corrosion resistance, ductility, and hardness. It is highly resistant to most chemicals at temperatures below 150°C and can only be dissolved with hydrofluoric acid. With the fourth-highest melting point among all metals, tantalum also forms very thin and protective oxide layers, making it perfect for use in high-quality capacitors.
Tantalum is used to create both welded and seamless tubes/pipes, which have various applications. Seamless tantalum tubes and pipes are produced through extrusion, tube reduction, or deep-drawing from sheet metal. On the other hand, welded tantalum tubes & pipes are made by forming a strip into a tube shape and then welding the joint using gas tungsten arc welding.

FAQs
Tantalum tube is a heavy, ductile, and corrosion-resistant metal tube made from tantalum. It withstands chemicals at temperatures below 150 °C and resists hydrofluoric acid.
Tantalum is used in high-temperature applications like aircraft engines, electrical devices such as capacitors, surgical implants, and equipment for handling corrosive chemicals due to its durability.
Tantalum is primarily used in producing electronic components, where an oxide layer on its surface serves as an insulating dielectric layer. Its ability to coat other metals with a thin layer allows for high capacitance in a compact form.
