Solitaire Steel is a major manufacturer of high-quality Carbon Steel ASTM A214 tubes. These tubes are produced through electric resistance welding and may undergo heat treatment to enhance their properties. The ASTM A214 and ASME SA214 standards cover minimum-wall-thickness, electric-resistance-welded carbon steel tubes designed for specific applications.

ASTM A214 and ASME SA214 tubes are primarily used in condensers, heat exchangers, and similar heat-transfer equipment. They are also valuable in various industries, including transportation, agriculture, and general industrial applications. These tubes are commonly referred to as Electric Resistance Tubes due to their manufacturing process.

In addition to their use in power plants, piping systems, and oil well tubulars, Carbon Steel SA214 and A214 tubes are known for their durability and strength. They are often subjected to X-ray testing to ensure no impurities are present. These tubes also offer rust resistance, making them suitable for environments where weathering is a concern.

    FAQs

SA-214 is a low-carbon steel material primarily used for manufacturing welded carbon steel tubes. These tubes are commonly employed in high-pressure applications such as steam boilers and heat exchangers due to their good formability, weldability, and resistance to moderate levels of stress and pressure.
The difference between SA 214 and SA 179 is that SA 214 is welded carbon steel with an allowable stress of 11,400 PSI at 350°F, commonly used in non-sour applications like finned tubes. SA 179 is seamless carbon steel with a higher allowable stress of 13,400 PSI, used when seamless construction is required.
