The steel used in mechanical tubing may be cast in ingots or strand cast. When different grade steels are sequentially strand cast, it is essential to identify the transition material. Seamless tubing is made without a welded seam by hot working steel and then cold finishing it to achieve the desired shape, sizes, and mechanical properties.
