Solitaire Steel is a trusted manufacturer and supplier of carbon steel flanges, valued for their corrosion resistance, durability, and high-quality finish. These flanges are available in various types to meet diverse application requirements. A105 forged carbon steel is the most commonly used material grade, with sizes ranging from 1/2” to 24” under ASME B16.5, 26” to 60” under ASME B16.47, and 26” to 96” under B16.1 standards. With a temperature range up to 1,000°F and pressure capacities between 20 and 6,170 psi, carbon steel flanges are an economical and versatile choice for industrial applications.
Carbon steel, an alloy primarily composed of iron and up to 2.1% carbon by weight, is widely used due to its strength and durability. Unlike stainless steel, carbon steel contains minimal amounts of elements like chromium and nickel. A105 carbon steel has a maximum allowable carbon content of 0.35%, and its strength can be enhanced through heat treatments such as quenching, tempering, and normalizing. While these processes improve hardness and strength, they may reduce ductility, making the steel more challenging to shape and weld. However, its reliability in demanding applications often outweighs these challenges.
Carbon steel flanges have minimal trace elements like molybdenum, nickel, chromium, titanium, or vanadium, making them a cost-effective solution for various industries.

FAQs
A carbon steel flange is a type of flange made from carbon steel, an alloy of iron and carbon, used to connect pipes and other components in various industrial applications.
Carbon steel flanges are strong, durable, and cost-effective. They are also widely available, making them a popular choice for many applications.
Carbon steel flanges should be avoided in applications involving high pressure, high temperatures, or corrosive environments, as they may not withstand these conditions effectively.
Carbon steel flanges come in several types, including slip-on flanges, threaded flanges, weld neck flanges, and socket weld flanges, each suited to different applications and connection methods.
